Powerful accords of Smoke, Gunpowder, Blood and Brandy combine with Sea Spray and a penetrating Citrus note. The fragrance is singularly bold in its composition, yet ultimately refined, provocative and unique. Thunder in a bottle!This scent imagines battle, war, chaos. Inspired by the Battle of Trafalgar in which Lord Nelson both won the battle and also lost his life. Tonnerre also references the year (1805) in which naval Officer Sir Francis Beaufort introduced "wind force scale" on the sea. The clashing of the notes takes us to a battle on the high seas - the smoky smell of guns blazing, blood and brandy being split on the deck and the giant waves crashing over the boat and taking control. This is the smell of warfare on the sea. A clashing of notes, an intensity of everything happening all at once, and then the calm after the storm as the perfume settles on the skin.This challenging fragrance is an attempt to bring something old into a modern context - what has happened before makes us who we are now (individually and as a country). ABOUT THE BRAND 

Beaufort London is an incredibly unique English perfume house created by musician and writer Leo Crabtree. Inspired by Crabtree's lifelong love of fragrance mixed with his fascination with the darker elements of British history, Beaufort London's first collection of intense, and bold perfumes is titled "Come Hell or High Water". Coming from a family history of seamen, Crabtree also references the sea throughout this collection. "The sea, its traditions, superstitions and way of life are ingrained in me. The brand's name Beaufort London (derived from the 1805 wind force scale conjured up by Naval Officer Sir Francis Beaufort) represents a kind of framework within which we can understand ourselves.
