After short studies in psychology, he turned his attention to the world of fashion and quickly won a grand prize in a major design competition. In 1978 he presented to the world his first fashion collection. This has earned him international success and since 1981 he has therefore been creating under his own brand JOOP. The very first creation of the company was JOOP Woman perfume with hints of oriental flowers, and JOOP Man fragrances.
